In my opinion, the Amplified Bible translation words the following bible verse in one of the most descriptive ways. Jesus said in Luke 21:4, “but take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap Read the rest of this entry »
Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Today I opened my King James and Amplified parallel bible and came across Luke 18:17 where Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].” The same verse in the Orthodox Study Bible reads it like this, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by Read the rest of this entry »
Patience is an area of my life that I believe God is working on. I tend to be impatient when trading stocks, currencies etc. I find that especially with my family, I have little patients. What I mean is that I tend to get frustrated with them very quickly. I know that God is helping me in this area, because I asked Him to help me. What I did find, is that now, Jesus tends to give me more opportunities to be patient. What I learned recently to ask Jesus for is, Read the rest of this entry »
Good Morning all. Thank You Jesus for a wonderful and blessed day. Let’s take a look at verse three of Psalm 23. As I did yesterday, I will use the Orthodox Study Bible. For those who have not heard of this bible version, it is used by many Eastern Orthodox Christians, such as by those who attend the Greek Orthodox Church, which happens to be the church I was raised in. Eastern Orthodox is, for those who do not know, just another Christian denomination Read the rest of this entry »
Psalm 23 is one of the most commonly known psalms if not the most common. For those unfamiliar with how to find a chapter in the book of psalms, each psalm is its own chapter. Psalm 23 is a psalm of David. The bible version that I am reading from today is the Orthodox Study Bible. I think the way it is translated is very similar to the New King James version. Psalm 23 1-2 reads, “the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green Read the rest of this entry »
Family is who you should be able to go to in good times, bad times, and just because. To me there are three types of families. The most important is being part of God’s family. You need to be born again to be part of God’s family and God’s family will live in heaven with Him. The second type of family is the most common; Read the rest of this entry » Romans 12:20 reads, “on the contrary: ‘if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.” Romans reads in 12:17, “repay no one evil for evil.” If someone does something to offend you, be kind to them anyway. That means that we should forgive everyone. Jesus forgives us and He is our example. Therefore we need to forgive. Romans 12:20 continues, ” for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.” If someone keeps doing things to annoy you on purpose, be extra nice to them. It will drive them nuts. Always forgive and show kindness. Last night I was listening to a CD titled The Way to Live by Joyce Meyer. She said, “We need more people that will take the attitiude, ‘I am gonna stand before God someday and I am gonna give an account of my life. And I have to live my life while I’m here caring more about what He thinks than I do about Read the rest of this entry » Have you ever wondered if Jesus is with you? Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Jesus is saying here He will never leave us. Jesus will always be with us, even if we can not see Him. Trust in the Lord with all of your Read the rest of this entry »
