More Faith

datePosted on 09:15, September 14th, 2009 by Michael

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I opened my King James and Amplified parallel bible and came across Luke 18:17 where Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].”  The same verse in the Orthodox Study Bible reads it like this, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by Read the rest of this entry »

Psalm 23

datePosted on 12:01, September 7th, 2009 by Michael

Psalm 23 is one of the most commonly known psalms if not the most common.  For those unfamiliar with how to find a chapter in the book of psalms, each psalm is its own chapter.  Psalm 23 is a psalm of David.  The bible version that I am reading from today is the Orthodox Study Bible.  I think the way it is translated is very similar to the New King James version.  Psalm 23 1-2 reads, “the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He makes me to lie down in green Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness and Kindness

datePosted on 09:24, September 1st, 2009 by Michael

Romans 12:20 reads, “on the contrary: ‘if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.”  Romans reads in 12:17, “repay no one evil for evil.”  If someone does something to offend you, be kind to them anyway.  That means that we should forgive everyone.  Jesus forgives us and He is our example.  Therefore we need to forgive.  Romans 12:20 continues, ” for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”  If someone keeps doing things to annoy you on purpose, be extra nice to them.  It will drive them nuts.  Always forgive and show kindness.

You Are Never Alone

datePosted on 08:36, August 27th, 2009 by Michael

Have you ever wondered if Jesus is with you?  Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”  Jesus is saying here He will never leave us.  Jesus will always be with us, even if we can not see Him.  Trust in the Lord with all of your Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness Part 3

datePosted on 08:52, August 26th, 2009 by Michael

Jesus tells us this parable in Matthew 18:23-35, “Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an Read the rest of this entry »

Be Content

datePosted on 08:38, August 24th, 2009 by Michael

Yesterday I attended church at Christ the Rock in Cooper City.  Pastor Darrell’s sermon was a continuation of his current series going through the book of Philippians.  Yesterday’s sermon was about being content.  It got me thinking.  The bible reads in Philippians 4:11-13, “not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed…) in whatever state I am.  I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and Read the rest of this entry »

Faith to Move Mountians

datePosted on 08:32, August 21st, 2009 by Michael

What is faith?

Faith could be described as believing with out seeing or doubting; believing that God has the power to______.  You can fill in the blank.  An example of faith would be when you go to bed, you know that you will wake up in the morning.  Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have Read the rest of this entry »
