In my opinion, the Amplified Bible translation words the following bible verse in one of the most descriptive ways. Jesus said in Luke 21:4, “but take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap Read the rest of this entry »
Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Today I opened my King James and Amplified parallel bible and came across Luke 18:17 where Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].” The same verse in the Orthodox Study Bible reads it like this, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by Read the rest of this entry »
Patience is an area of my life that I believe God is working on. I tend to be impatient when trading stocks, currencies etc. I find that especially with my family, I have little patients. What I mean is that I tend to get frustrated with them very quickly. I know that God is helping me in this area, because I asked Him to help me. What I did find, is that now, Jesus tends to give me more opportunities to be patient. What I learned recently to ask Jesus for is, Read the rest of this entry » Today is my parents 26th wedding anniversary. Anniversary ideas are not my specialty, so my siblings and I are planning to take them out for dinner one day this weekend. For too many in today’s world, marriage does not have the same meaning as it did years ago or it is not how God intended it to be. Divorce rates are increasing, cheating (adultery) is more common, people are moving Read the rest of this entry »
Family is who you should be able to go to in good times, bad times, and just because. To me there are three types of families. The most important is being part of God’s family. You need to be born again to be part of God’s family and God’s family will live in heaven with Him. The second type of family is the most common; Read the rest of this entry » Last night I was listening to a CD titled The Way to Live by Joyce Meyer. She said, “We need more people that will take the attitiude, ‘I am gonna stand before God someday and I am gonna give an account of my life. And I have to live my life while I’m here caring more about what He thinks than I do about Read the rest of this entry » Yesterday I attended church at Christ the Rock in Cooper City. Pastor Darrell’s sermon was a continuation of his current series going through the book of Philippians. Yesterday’s sermon was about being content. It got me thinking. The bible reads in Philippians 4:11-13, “not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed…) in whatever state I am. I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and Read the rest of this entry »
What is faith? Faith could be described as believing with out seeing or doubting; believing that God has the power to______. You can fill in the blank. An example of faith would be when you go to bed, you know that you will wake up in the morning. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have Read the rest of this entry » God the SonGod so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God’s Son is Jesus Christ. Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:30-35 & Luke 2:7). He was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:4). Once baptized by John the Baptist, it was Jesus Whom the voice from heaven came and spoke, “this is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). It was Jesus, who overcame the temptation of the devil in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-15). Check out the below bullets to see but a taste of the miracles Jesus preformed: Read the rest of this entry » |
