Many people enjoy art.  Well, if you read Genesis 1 you will see a masterpiece created.  God created the heavens and the earth.  Earth, we know what it looks like because we live in it.  For a description of what heaven looks like read Revelations 21:10-21 in the bible and take a look at my post entitled, ‘What does Heaven Look like.’  Here on Read the rest of this entry »

Lust Part 1

datePosted on 11:13, September 16th, 2009 by Michael

Genesis 1:27 reads, “male and female He created them.”  Genesis 1:28 reads, “and God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth…”  Nowadays many are just after sleeping with one another rather than getting married and replenishing the earth as God commanded.  Lust is extremely common Read the rest of this entry »

The Pharisee and the Tax Collector

datePosted on 07:53, September 15th, 2009 by Michael

Jesus tells this parable in Luke 18:9-14.  Jesus says in Luke 18:10-17, ” Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a pharisee, and the other a publican.  The pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” The NIV reads Read the rest of this entry »

More Faith

datePosted on 09:15, September 14th, 2009 by Michael

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I opened my King James and Amplified parallel bible and came across Luke 18:17 where Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].”  The same verse in the Orthodox Study Bible reads it like this, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by Read the rest of this entry »

Patience

datePosted on 10:40, September 12th, 2009 by Michael

Patience is an area of my life that I believe God is working on.  I tend to be impatient when trading stocks, currencies etc.  I find that especially with my family, I have little patients.  What I mean is that I tend to get frustrated with them very quickly.  I know that God is helping me in this area, because I asked Him to help me.  What I did find, is that now, Jesus tends to give me more opportunities to be patient.  What I learned recently to ask Jesus for is, Read the rest of this entry »

I was listening to one of my Phillips, Craig, & Dean CD and I heard the song titled “When God Ran.”  I recommend you listening to it.  It goes with forgiveness and God’s love which my posts have been about recently.  This song  stuck with me and I find that I must have listened to it over 50 times in the past Read the rest of this entry »

Family

Family is who you should be able to go to in good times, bad times, and just because.  To me there are three types of families.  The most important is being part of God’s family.  You need to be born again to be part of God’s family and God’s family will live in heaven with Him.  The second type of family is the most common; Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness and Kindness

datePosted on 09:24, September 1st, 2009 by Michael

Romans 12:20 reads, “on the contrary: ‘if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.”  Romans reads in 12:17, “repay no one evil for evil.”  If someone does something to offend you, be kind to them anyway.  That means that we should forgive everyone.  Jesus forgives us and He is our example.  Therefore we need to forgive.  Romans 12:20 continues, ” for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”  If someone keeps doing things to annoy you on purpose, be extra nice to them.  It will drive them nuts.  Always forgive and show kindness.

Forgiveness Part 3

datePosted on 08:52, August 26th, 2009 by Michael

Jesus tells us this parable in Matthew 18:23-35, “Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness Part 2

datePosted on 08:19, August 25th, 2009 by Michael

How many times should I forgive?

The bible reads in Matthew 18:21-22,”Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”  I do not believe that Jesus really meant Read the rest of this entry »
