Don’t Be Left Behind

In my opinion, the Amplified Bible translation words the following bible verse in one of the most descriptive ways.  Jesus said in Luke 21:4, “but take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap Read the rest of this entry »

Christian Organizations

Whether a ministry, church, TV station, radio station, or business, I feel that as Christians we should support any type of organization that is Christian based.  For example, when you want to send flowers to someone for a birthday, anniversary or whatever occasion, why not give your business to a flower shop owned by Christians such as Cypress Gardens.

More Faith

datePosted on 09:15, September 14th, 2009 by Michael

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I opened my King James and Amplified parallel bible and came across Luke 18:17 where Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].”  The same verse in the Orthodox Study Bible reads it like this, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness Part 3

datePosted on 08:52, August 26th, 2009 by Michael

Jesus tells us this parable in Matthew 18:23-35, “Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness Part 2

How many times should I forgive?

The bible reads in Matthew 18:21-22,”Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”  I do not believe that Jesus really meant Read the rest of this entry »

Faith to Move Mountians

datePosted on 08:32, August 21st, 2009 by Michael

What is faith?

Faith could be described as believing with out seeing or doubting; believing that God has the power to______.  You can fill in the blank.  An example of faith would be when you go to bed, you know that you will wake up in the morning.  Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have Read the rest of this entry »

One Body

datePosted on 11:05, August 18th, 2009 by Michael

Just about every night for the past 3-5 years I have read Romans 12.  In my most read bible version, (King James/Amplified parallel bible) this section (chapter 12) is called “Christian Conduct.”  The Orthodox Study Bible and the NIV Study Bible I have divided the Chapter into different sections, but in general I think that “Christian Conduct” covers the entire chapter very well.
