Everything is Possible for Those That Believe. Mark 9:23

After the flood people started to slowly have shorter lives. Below I am putting in bullets, names and ages from Noah to Issac and add in Joseph (Jacob’s son) and Joshua (Joshua and the battle of Jericho). All ages are in years.
Well, what changed? After studying Genesis 1 where God created earth, I came across Genesis 1:6-7. I read it in the Orthodox Study Bible first. I didn’t quite get it though, so I looked further at the NASB version, NIV version, and the King James version, but still didn’t quite get it. I finally read the NCV version (New Century Version) and it made some more sense to me. Genesis 1:6-7 reads, “then God said, ‘Let there be something to divide the water in two.’ So God made the air and placed some of the water above the air and some below it.” To me, this means that there was water in the atmosphere. There had to be because what is above the ocean now? Air, and as far as I know there is no air in space, so the only place for the rest of the water above the air had to be between where the air stops and space starts. That would be the sky, or atmosphere, or whatever you want to call it. In order for it to rain 40 days and 40 nights straight, to flood the earth, it would take a lot of water. The water had come from somewhere. So since God had water up in the sky and now there isn’t, that is what changed. I am not a scientist so I do not know why water being in the atmosphere would cause longer life, but I do know that is the only change I found from Genesis 1 – 8, that there is now no water in the atmosphere. |
Never heard it explained that way. Very interesting and WOW! I had forgot how old some of the Bible characters were when they died. Thanks for the reminder.
