Patients

Since I got laid off last February, I have been substitute teaching. There is a lot of patients required to do that. God has shown favor to me by giving me enough jobs to pay the bills and have a little left over for some fun stuff here and there. I trust in the Lord my God with all my heart and He always provides.

Filling in for a teacher is always an interesting task because you never know what kind of kids to expect especially is you have never filled in for the teacher before. The students for the most part try to get away with more, try to mess with you, don’t listen, etc. I asked God to help me be more patient and then I got more opportunities to be patient, i.e. filling in. I have realized that God has found favor with me giving me more patients when teaching and now it is a little easier for me. I am not all stressed out on bad days, I just take a deep breath and take the day one class at a time. I also have now realized that I actually like teaching.

I will be graduating with a degree in Biblical studies, focused on Leadership and Ministry, and thought about doing some substitute teaching when I graduate to fill in some income and get experience in teaching in different settings.

    How was it substituting?

(PS. you will have to email me when you reply to my comment, because I do not see a “subscribe” to comments option)

Reminds me of all the times we tried to get away with pulling things on substitute teachers. Glad you like teaching

Of course when you trust in God He can always make a way where there is no way.

I love inspiring posts. Thanks for sharing!

That’s just like God. He answers our prayers with more opportunities.

Yes, teaching does give you a lot of “patients” (as does being a doctor), but it also takes much “patience” to teach. ;)
One of the things we always say is that the worst thing to ask for is patience, for then the Lord will put you into situations that require patience, whereas you just wanted Him to wave a magic want & give it to you. Lol, unfortunately He doesn’t work that way. :)
