Everything is Possible for Those That Believe. Mark 9:23

October 2009For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil… 1 Timothy 6:10Notice how it says, “the love of money,” and not just plain ole money? Money itself is not evil, but what is evil is letting it rule over all your decisions. Always remember to Keep Jesus first in your life.

Why? The diligent are hard working. They are not trying to get it done fast and cut corners. They want what ever they lay their hand to do to prosper and be done correctly. The second part of this verse shows us that if you are in a hurry to get something done, you may cut corners, slack off, or not do such a good job due to you wanting to get done so fast. Make sure that you are diligent so that all your plans prosper. Whether it is in prayer, at work, in school, starting your own business, helping someone, etc. Do the best that you can do. Live Colossians 3:17 which reads, “And in whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”

If you read it slowly notice that it is about laziness in addition to talking about money. During that time, the more flocks and herds you had the wealthier you were. The first part of the verse saying to know the condition of your flocks is about laziness. If you are lazy with your finances and don’t pay attention to how much you are spending and where your money is going you can bury youself in a financial mess. The second part of the verse talks about giving careful attention to your herds. Here again, pay careful attention to your finances. Take the time to pray and make biblical, better financial decisions. Work your flocks and herds, but remember to give God His portion. |
