Everything is Possible for Those That Believe. Mark 9:23

I thought that Adam and Eve were the first two people on earth. I am coming to find that may not be true. I have recently studied in Genesis and found they may have been, but they may not have. God did show me that there were people on earth besides them though, Adam was just the one whom God breathed the breath of life into. Genesis 1:26-28 reads, “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.’ So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.’” (New Living Bible) Nowhere in those verses does it say that those people were Adam and Eve. They may have been, but here is why I think there were more then just them around. Genesis 4:17 reads, “Cain had sexual relations with his wife.” How did Cain have a wife if Adam and Eve only had Cain and Abel? There must have been others around. God actually just showed me this when I was looking up Genesis 4:17. Genesis 4:13-15 reads, “Cain replied to the Lord, ‘My punishment is too great for me to bear! You have banished me from the land and from Your presence; You have made me a homeless wanderer. Anyone who finds me will kill me!’ The Lord replied, ‘No, for I will give a sevenfold punishment to anyone who kills you.’ Then the Lord put a mark on Cain to warn anyone who might try to kill him.” If there were no others besides Adam, Eve, and Cain after Cain killed Abel, why is he worried that someone will kill him now that he has been banished? Maybe he doesn’t know if there are other people on earth and that is why he is worried, maybe he does know that there are other people, I do not know. God putting a mark on Cain to warn anyone who may try to kill him is what put the icing on the cake for me. Why would God put a mark on Cain if there was no one around to kill him? There must have been other people around, not related to Adam and Eve on the earth. Interesting huh? Please leave me a comment telling me your thoughts and check out the other posts on Creation. |
