Everything is Possible for Those That Believe. Mark 9:23
I know that I still have more questions to answer, but last night while I was reading Jeremiah two verses really stood out, Jeremiah 9:23-24. It reads, “Thus saith the Lord, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches, but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for these things I delight, says the Lord.”
Make your focus be on the Lord. Here God said “let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me.” What does that mean glory? In the Orthodox Study Bible and the NIV the word used is boast. Do not boast about being the strongest, richest, wisest, smartest, etc., but boast in that you know the Lord. This applies just as much today as it did back then. Remember the Bible is the living word. God wants each of us to know Him personally. This will never change. It is always the in thing with God. Get to know Jesus; He is our Savior. Don’t waste time telling everyone how much money you have, how fast you run, or how many good grades you receive(d). What is it all worth? Knowing Jesus is worth everything. God also said at the end of this verse that He delights and practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. This adds to yesterday’s post in a way because God said here that He practices loving-kindness. He even revealed in this verse some of His delights.
