Since I got laid off last February, I have been substitute teaching. There is a lot of patients required to do that. God has shown favor to me by giving me enough jobs to pay the bills and have a little left over for some fun stuff here and there. I trust in the Lord my God with all my heart and He always provides Read the rest of this entry » This weekend is Valentine’s Weekend for the most part, even though the day is actually Sunday. In addition to getting away this weekend, celebrating at home, going to dinner, or whatever, make sure that you take the time to thank God for that special someone that you have the pleasure of spending time with. If you have not met that special someone yet, I myself haven’t either, take the time out to thank God that you are one day closer to finding the person that He wants you to be with. I know that is what I do and I trust God to show me who she is in His time and not mine. I will return for a new normal post on Monday. If you missed yesterday’s post on Valentine’s Day Ideas, check it out before you leave and maybe even leave a comment. When I read this passage in Galatians, God opened my eyes to something. Galatians 4:21-23 reads, “Tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says? The scripture says that Abraham had two sons, one from his slave wife and one from his freeborn wife. The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise. But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of His promise.” God has a large plan and many small plans in-between. Since God is God, why would we try to interfere with His plans. God promised Abraham a son. Man, Sarah and Abraham, tried to make God’s promise come true by Abraham sleeping with Hagar who was Read the rest of this entry » Romans 12:9 reads, “Hate what is wrong.” I think that this is pretty straight forward. We should turn away from what it wrong and have nothing to do with it. If we know something we are doing is wrong, run from it. Pray that Jesus helps in this area. It may not happen instantly, but Read the rest of this entry » Genesis 37:5-11 reads, “Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. He said to them, ‘Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.’ His brothers said to him, ‘Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?’ And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said. Then he had another dream, and he told his brothers. ‘Listen,’ he said, ‘I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.’ When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, ‘What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?’ His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter Read the rest of this entry » Matthew 5:3-10 are The Beatitutes. Lets talk about the first on today. Matthew 5:3 reads in the New Living Bible, “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him.” The point here that we as people need to realize that we need Jesus. We need our Lord, God, and Savior because without Him we are nothing. I think that Jesus said it Read the rest of this entry » This is an interesting topic considering the world economy. Much debt was accumulated by people and well, look what happened. What does the the bible say about debt? Wait a minute you mean the bible talks about debt? Of course. In Luke 18:17 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter Read the rest of this entry » The Orthodox Study Bible reads in Deuteronomy 31:8, “but the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid nor be terrified.” We need to trust in the Lord. If God goes before us and is with us why should we Read the rest of this entry » God the SonGod so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God’s Son is Jesus Christ. Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:30-35 & Luke 2:7). He was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:4). Once baptized by John the Baptist, it was Jesus Whom the voice from heaven came and spoke, “this is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). It was Jesus, who overcame the temptation of the devil in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-15). Check out the below bullets to see but a taste of the miracles Jesus preformed: Read the rest of this entry » |
