You ever have one of those days where everything seems to be against you?  They can be really frustrating.  Yesterday started to become one of those days, but thank God I quickly realized it.  I managed Read the rest of this entry »

Philippians 4:6 reads, “…let your requests be made known unto God.” Yes, the bible says, ‘let your requests be made known to God,’ but how do you do that? Read the rest of this entry »

Prayer

datePosted on 11:22, October 10th, 2009 by Michael

I was listening to a sermon CD from Joyce Meyers and she said a couple of things that caught my attention.  In that specific series Joyce Meyer stated, “when you pray, you open the door for God to work.”  That made complete sense to me because Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, “ask, and it shall be given you.”  The point is that we need to ask.  Prayer is Read the rest of this entry »

Bible Study Prayer

datePosted on 08:44, October 7th, 2009 by Michael

Should you pray before you read the bible or have a bible study? Absolutely!  I almost always pray before I dive into my bible reading for the day, although sometimes I forget and I stop and pray when I remember.  The prayer I say goes something like this…

Dear Father I pray in the Name of Jesus,  Thank you for this time to study Your Word today.  Please help me to understand, retain, live, and comprehend what I will read in this bible now.  Thank you Jesus.  Your will be done; in Jesus’ Name I pray Amen.

It has come to my attention that many people are looking for prayers online.  Let me give you one for healing today.  If you want me to give you a specific prayer for something please leave me a comment.  Jesus says in Luke 11:9, “ask and it will be given to you.”  James 4:2 reads, “ye have not, because ye ask not.”  Be aware though that James 4:3 Read the rest of this entry »

Healing

datePosted on 08:23, September 30th, 2009 by Michael

Our God is an awesome God.  He is a mighty God.  He is a powerful God.  Jesus is King of kings, Lord of lords, Name above all names.  Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day.  He conquered sin, pain, sickness, and all evil once and for all.  We need to trust in Him.  Never give up.  Always pray and have faith Read the rest of this entry »

Family

datePosted on 08:37, September 2nd, 2009 by Michael

Family is who you should be able to go to in good times, bad times, and just because.  To me there are three types of families.  The most important is being part of God’s family.  You need to be born again to be part of God’s family and God’s family will live in heaven with Him.  The second type of family is the most common; Read the rest of this entry »

Does God Answer Prayers?

datePosted on 10:14, August 11th, 2009 by Michael

I guess you could say that this question and answer links with yesterday’s. In one answer, yes.  Isaiah 30:19 reads, “How gracious He will be when you cry for help!  As soon as He hears, He will answer you.”

Yeah right, I’ve been praying and get no answer.  Are you sure?

Yes; I am sure.  If  that is what you think I know of three possible reasons.  One, is God hasn’t answered your prayer yet.  Two, maybe you just aren’t understanding the answer God gave you. Three, maybe God answered you and you missed it or didn’t listen.  I know God answers prayers and I have experienced each of these reasons personally. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Pray?

datePosted on 10:49, August 10th, 2009 by Michael

First of all prayer is our way of communicating with God.  In addition, Jesus said in Matthew 6:5, 6, and 7, “When you pray.”  Jesus didn’t say if you pray, He said when.  For Jesus to say when that means that we should pray.  In addition, Jesus Himself prayed.  Most of John 17 Jesus prayed.  In Matthew 26:36-42 He prayed.  In Matthew 6:9-15 Jesus even tells us how to pray.   In these verses He gives us what is now commonly known as the Lord’s Prayer.  For those of you who don’t know it please read it below: Read the rest of this entry »
