Birds, Fish, and Sea Life

datePosted on 07:29, February 5th, 2010 by Michael

One thing that to this day I do not understand is why some Christians believe the theory of evolution.  Since we have been blogging about God creating the earth, lets look at Genesis 1:20-22.  In the New Living Bible it reads, “Then God said, ‘Let the waters swarm with fish and other life.  Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.’  So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird-each producing offspring of the same kind.  And God saw that it Read the rest of this entry »

Dinosaurs

datePosted on 07:00, February 1st, 2010 by Michael

I know on Monday you are expecting a verse of the week, but I will post that tomorrow morning.  Nest week it will be back to Mondays.  According to what I have heard and figured out about time and the bible, the earth shouldn’t be older than 15000 years. If this is true, then how can scientists say that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and that the earth is millions of years old? This interested me and then my Uncle told me to read Genesis 1:1-2. Lets take a look at it. In the New Living Read the rest of this entry »

Call the Lord

datePosted on 07:03, January 12th, 2010 by Michael

The NIV bible reads in Romans 10:9-10, “that if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and Read the rest of this entry »

Saved from What?

datePosted on 01:10, November 24th, 2009 by Michael

Romans 10:9 reads in the NIV version, “that if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart God rose Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Unfortunately in today’s world many are confused by ’saved.’  A Greek Orthodox Priest I know in a sermon he gave years ago said something along this line, “when I was younger a boy rode his bike up to mine and asked me, ‘are you saved?’  I answered him, ’saved from what?’”  The rest of the sermon as I remember it went down hill.

That remark flabbergasted me.  My thinking is, ’saved from what?  The fires of hell.’  I used to think that was common knowledge, but I found I was very wrong.

Let me tell you right now, straight forward we need to believe and confess Jesus is Lord, He died on the cross and God rose Him from the dead so our sins are forgiven so we are saved from hell and the lake of fire for all eternity.  Those of us who are saved are going to heaven with Jesus.  Let’s remove any doubt from your mind.  Please pray the below prayer from your heart and out loud so you will have eternal life in heaven with Jesus.

Dear Father I pray in the Name of Jesus, please come into my life. Forgive me of all my sins. I believe that You are the Son of God and You died on the cross and rose from the dead to make a way for me. Thank you for loving me enough to die for me on the cross so my sins can be forgiven. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart. I make you my Lord and Savior. Please make me a new creature in Christ. Please write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. I love you. Thank you Jesus! In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN.

Please check out God’s Family before you leave.

Sin Categories

datePosted on 01:40, November 23rd, 2009 by Michael

A few Sundays ago I attended Christ the Rock community Church for service. Pastor Darrell, as usual, was on fire for God. He spent some time Sunday explaining that we should not categorize sin. He said, “admit what God says is sin, is sin.” He went on telling us we should not try to Read the rest of this entry »

Never Alone

datePosted on 11:31, November 16th, 2009 by Michael

The Orthodox Study Bible reads in Deuteronomy 31:8, “but the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid nor be terrified.”

We need to trust in the Lord. If God goes before us and is with us why should we Read the rest of this entry »

Command at Gethsemane

datePosted on 01:37, November 9th, 2009 by Michael

Matthew 26:41 reads, “watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

We need to pray and ask God for the strength we need when tempted so we do not give into it. The second part of this verse shows very plainly that the flesh is weak. So pray Read the rest of this entry »

Dead to Sin

datePosted on 00:43, November 5th, 2009 by Michael

In the Orthodox Study Bible and the New King James Version, Romans 6:11 reads, “likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The Amplified version reads the same verse as, “even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it Read the rest of this entry »

The Rapture

datePosted on 00:41, November 4th, 2009 by Michael

What many of us refer to as ‘The Rapture’ can be found in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 which reads, in the Orthodox Study Bible, “behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet…” Read the rest of this entry »

Jesus’ Family

datePosted on 00:00, October 23rd, 2009 by Michael

1 Corinthians 15:22 reads in the Orthodox Study Bible, “for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall be made alive.” We see here two groups: Jesus’ group and Adam’s group. I like to refer to the groups as families. Adam’s family all will die because they are in sin. If you are in Jesus’ family you have eternal Read the rest of this entry »
