Joseph’s Dream

datePosted on 07:25, January 20th, 2010 by Michael

Genesis 37:5-11 reads, “Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.  He said to them, ‘Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.’  His brothers said to him, ‘Do you intend to reign over us?  Will you actually rule us?’  And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.  Then he had another dream, and he told his brothers.  ‘Listen,’ he said, ‘I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.’  When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, ‘What is this dream you had?  Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?’  His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter Read the rest of this entry »

This is an interesting topic considering the world economy.  Much debt was accumulated by people and well, look what happened.  What does the the bible say about debt?  Wait a minute you mean the bible talks about debt?  Of course.  Read the rest of this entry »

Christian Denominations

datePosted on 09:27, January 5th, 2010 by Michael

I have come to figure out that many Christian denominations tend to attack one another. To me this is sad. As Christians we are supposed to be ambassadors for Christ, instead we spend Read the rest of this entry »

Blind Faith

datePosted on 10:09, November 18th, 2009 by Michael

Jesus said in Matthew 18:3, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  In Luke 18:17 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter Read the rest of this entry »

Awe

datePosted on 00:02, November 2nd, 2009 by Michael

I was reading Genesis 6 and in verse 19 God tells Noah that two of every living animal should be brought on the ark. Obviously he needed and received God’s help. Can you imagine the feeling of awe Noah must have had seeing all the animals coming so Read the rest of this entry »

Faith of Noah

datePosted on 00:54, October 30th, 2009 by Michael

In Genesis 6 God commands Noah to build an ark.  Not just any ark, but one to hold him, his wife, his sons and their wives, and two of every animal of the time (male and female).  Noah was also told to gather enough food for everyone on board Read the rest of this entry »

How to Handle Temptation

datePosted on 00:00, October 22nd, 2009 by Michael

Don’t for one minute think you will not be tempted. Jesus Himself was tempted. You can read about what happened in Luke 4:1-13. Since Jesus is our example we should do what He did.

Strange Commands

datePosted on 08:56, October 20th, 2009 by Michael

As mentioned in my last post, Peter made the correct decision to obey Jesus, but if you were in Peter’s shoes would you have made the same decision?

Luke 5:4-7 reads in the Orthodox Study Bible as well as the New King James Version, “but Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word Read the rest of this entry »

Abundant Blessings

datePosted on 18:50, October 13th, 2009 by Michael

As I mentioned in my last post there are a great many things that can be talked about in the first section of Luke 5 [verses 1-11].  I am going to pick up another important point today from verses 4-7 which reads, “When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’  But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word Read the rest of this entry »

Christ the Rock

datePosted on 09:02, October 12th, 2009 by Michael

Yesterday I attended Christ the Rock Community Church for the 9 AM service.  Pastor Darrel made many excellent  points.  His teaching came from Luke 5:1-11.  This section in the Orthodox Study Bible is called ‘Four Fishermen Called,’ and in the King James Bible it is titled, “The Call of the First Disciples.”  There is too much in this section to go over all in one post, so for today I will touch upon some quotes made by Pastor Darrel in Church yesterday.  The last part of Luke 5:10 reads, “from now on you will catch Read the rest of this entry »
