Lust Part 2

Many people enjoy art.  Well, if you read Genesis 1 you will see a masterpiece created.  God created the heavens and the earth.  Earth, we know what it looks like because we live in it.  For a description of what heaven looks like read Revelations 21:10-21 in the bible and take a look at my post entitled, ‘What does Heaven Look like.’  Here on earth, God created everything, trees, grass, mountains, valleys, the ocean, fish, animals, people, etc.  Many travel all over to see the tranquil landscaping, or raging seas and waterfalls God created.  All this is God’s design.  Many people, even children, like to see animals and therefore visit zoos and places like Sea World or plan a Disney vacation to go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  Again, animals are also God’s creation.  We like to look at the animals and see the vast ocean or the tall mountains.  Is there something wrong with any of that?  Of course not.  You are seeing these things for their beauty or uniqueness.  You are taking it for what it is. If you found it ugly, would you want to see it again, or see more?  Probably not.

So What Does That Have to do With Anything?

God created you and me also.  Is there anything wrong with looking at a beautiful person?  Of course not, unless you take it one step further.  God designed men to have an attraction for women as well as women to have an attraction for men.  If that wasn’t so then how could we create children?  We need to be careful not to look at a person and lust after them.  The bible says that if we do, it is still sin.

The enemy tries to take everything that God created and twist it so that we fall into sin.  We need to be on our guard.  Here is an example.  Look at Eve in the Garden of Eden.  In Genesis 3:3-4, Eve is talking to the serpent (the devil).  Genesis 3:3-4 reads, “but the fruit of this tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die.”  See the enemy twists it by changing one small word.  We can see again that the devil twists words thousands of years later again with Jesus Himself.  You can read that in Matthew 4:1-11.  In the same way the devil tries to twist things even today.  He is turning the body, which God made, into something that people lust after.  Do not be deceived.  Don’t forget though there is nothing wrong with looking at a beautiful person, just don’t lust after him or her.

Jesus is our example.  He is our shepherd.  The Good News is that Jesus conquered death, sin, and the grave.  He is King of kings, Lord of lords, He is the lamb of God.  Allow Him to lead your life.  Become part of God’s Family.  Make Jesus your Lord and Savior.  Ask Him to come into your heart and make Him the Lord of your life.  If you want to be a part of God’s family, receive forgiveness of your sins, and live in heaven with Jesus for all eternity pray the below prayer out loud and with sincerity:

Dear Father I pray in the Name of Jesus, please come into my life. Forgive me of all my sins. I believe that You are the Son of God and You died on the cross and rose from the dead to make a way for me.  Thank you for loving me enough to die for me on the cross so my sins can be forgiven. I accept you as my Lord and Savior.  Please come into my heart.  I make you my Lord and Savior.  I love you.  Thank you Jesus!  In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.

Glory to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
