Freely Forgive

datePosted on 07:20, December 31st, 2009 by Michael

The amplified bible reads in Colossians 3:13, “as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must also [forgive].”

Forgiveness is a free gift from God. This is what Jesus was sent here to do, die on the cross so our sins can be forgiven. Because our sins are forgiven, we can live in heaven with Him Read the rest of this entry »

Awesome God

datePosted on 09:34, December 26th, 2009 by Michael

The book of Daniel is one of many places that we can see that our God is an awesome God. By Daniel 6, Darius has taken over Babylon. He issued a decree that no one could ask God or any other god for anything. They only could make a petition to the king, only. This, king Darius was convinced of doing by the people under him, advisers, etc.

Daniel, believing in God, disregarded that. He went to his window and prayed to our God. Daniel had a custom of praying three times a day near his window, so he was not doing it that day for spite, but he would offend the king before he offended God. When king Darius heard that Daniel was praying after he signed the decree, he was saddened. In Daniel 6:16 Darius orders that Daniel be thrown into the lions den. He said in the next verse that God, Daniel’s God, our God, would deliver him. Now I do not think that he believed that, but I do think that he wanted that.

Daniel went into the lion’s den. The next morning the king called out to Daniel and asked him if God was able to deliver him from the lions den. Daniel replied in Daniel 6:21, “o king, live for ever.” God had protected Daniel from the lion’s in the lion’s den the entire night.

That God, is our God. Our God, is an awesome God. He is a merciful God. He is a powerful God. He is a mighty God. He is a wonderful God. He is a miraculous God. He is a majestic God. He is our protector. He is out provider. He is the one who sent is only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal life (John 3:16). Words can not describe how awesome our God is. We need to give Him praise and glory every day of our lives! Thank You Lord! Thank You Jesus.

Jesus’s Birth

datePosted on 08:49, December 24th, 2009 by Michael

The following is from Luke 2:

“In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. ”

Each and every one of you have a Merry Christmas.

Mary Told of Jesus’s Birth

datePosted on 09:13, December 19th, 2009 by Michael

Luke 1:26-38 reads, ‘In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.’

Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.’

‘How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a Read the rest of this entry »

Giving this Year.

datePosted on 08:42, December 18th, 2009 by Michael

Many people have had a rough year. In Florida alone there are over 1 million people that are out of work. I became one of those back in February. God has provided me with temporary work here and there and has provided me with plenty this year.

As Christmas rolls around this year, everyone’s wallets tend to take a hit, because remember Christmas rolls around only once a year. There is no need to compete with others this year; only buy what you can afford. It is the thought that counts.

When you are giving, take time to give Jesus a little extra this year. The bible says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” I suggest giving a little more financially this Christmas or give more time. Invite someone to your home who will be alone on Christmas. Even if you are alone, invite someone because when they come, then you won’t be alone.

Read Luke 2:1-20 Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day with whomever you share Christmas with. Even if it is just Jesus. Have a Merry Christmas. Please check out some of our other posts.

I say Merry Christmas

datePosted on 08:29, December 17th, 2009 by Michael

Popular thing to say in the recent years is “happy holidays.” This is so we don’t offend people. Bologna! Garbage! When we don’t say Merry Christmas I feel it is us offending God.

I want to celebrate Jesus’ birth, not some mid-winter celebration. I would rather offend men than God. When someone says ‘happy holidays’ reply ‘Merry Christmas’ to them. If they are Jewish, with them Happy Hanukkah. Jewish people are God’s people so there is nothing wrong with Merry Christmas of Happy Hanukkah, but NEVER participate in taking Christ out of Christmas by saying happy holidays. Remember that Christ is in Christmas. Celebrate Jesus’ birth this year.

Abundant Blessings

datePosted on 08:24, December 3rd, 2009 by Michael

As I mentioned in my last post there are a great many things that can be talked about in the first section of Luke 5 [verses 1-11]. I am going to pick up another important point today from verses 4-7 which reads, “When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’ But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word Read the rest of this entry »

Were Adam and Eve alone on Earth?

datePosted on 09:01, December 1st, 2009 by Michael

I do not believe so after reading Genesis 1 and Genesis 4.  In Genesis 1, God made man.  Genesis 4:16-17 reads, “and Cain went out from the presense of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.  And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch…”

To this point, Adam and Eve only had Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-2).  Genesis 4:25 reads, “and Adam knew his wife again; and she bare…Seth:  ‘for God,’ said she, ‘hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.’”  This verse implies that there were probably none between Abel and Seth.

Genesis 3:3-4 reads, “and Adam lives… and begat a son in his own likeness… and called his name Seth:  And the days of Adam after he begat Seth were 800 years and he begat sons and daughters.

I feel that God opened my eyes to see through all these verses that there were more than just Adam and Eve on earth.  Adam was who God breathed the breath of life into.  How could Cain leave his parents and get married at the time he did if Adam and his wife hadn’t born any daughters?  There must have been others around.
