Romans 10:9 reads in the NIV version, “that if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart God rose Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Unfortunately in today’s world many are confused by ‘saved.’ A Greek Orthodox Priest I know in a sermon he gave years ago said something along this line, “when I was younger a boy rode his bike up to mine and asked me, ‘are you saved?’ I answered him, ‘saved from what?’” The rest of the sermon as I remember it went down hill. That remark flabbergasted me. My thinking is, ‘saved from what? The fires of hell.’ I used to think that was common knowledge, but I found I was very wrong. Let me tell you right now, straight forward we need to believe and confess Jesus is Lord, He died on the cross and God rose Him from the dead so our sins are forgiven so we are saved from hell and the lake of fire for all eternity. Those of us who are saved are going to heaven with Jesus. Let’s remove any doubt from your mind. Please pray the below prayer from your heart and out loud so you will have eternal life in heaven with Jesus. Dear Father I pray in the Name of Jesus, please come into my life. Forgive me of all my sins. I believe that You are the Son of God and You died on the cross and rose from the dead to make a way for me. Thank you for loving me enough to die for me on the cross so my sins can be forgiven. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart. I make you my Lord and Savior. Please make me a new creature in Christ. Please write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. I love you. Thank you Jesus! In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN. Please check out God’s Family before you leave. A few Sundays ago I attended Christ the Rock community Church for service. Pastor Darrell, as usual, was on fire for God. He spent some time Sunday explaining that we should not categorize sin. He said, “admit what God says is sin, is sin.” He went on telling us we should not try to Read the rest of this entry »
We need to have strong foundations. How do we get strong foundations? Getting into God’s word. We need to get strongly rooted in God’s word. Pray before you read the bible and ask God to open your eyes to what He wants you to see. Remember to thank Him for the time He gave you to study in His word. Since Jesus is Lord why don’t we listen to Him. Unfortunately, I have fallen into this myself many times. When God gives you a command, whether you read it in the bible or you hear it from Him directly, don’t hesitate. Just do it. He is our Lord, God, and Savior and knows what’s best for us. Before you leave please check out How to Handle Temptation. I will not be posting anything new till Monday due to me attending St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Festival in Kendall. Jesus said in Matthew 18:3, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. In Luke 18:17 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter Read the rest of this entry » Sunday I attended Christ the Rock Community Church and as usual, Pastor Darrell was on fire for Jesus. The sermon was based on Colossians 3:12-13, but the overall message was about verse 13 and forgiveness. Colossians 3:12 reads in the NIV Bible, “therefore, as God’s Read the rest of this entry » The Orthodox Study Bible reads in Deuteronomy 31:8, “but the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid nor be terrified.” We need to trust in the Lord. If God goes before us and is with us why should we Read the rest of this entry » God the SonGod so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God’s Son is Jesus Christ. Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:30-35 & Luke 2:7). He was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:4). Once baptized by John the Baptist, it was Jesus Whom the voice from heaven came and spoke, “this is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). It was Jesus, who overcame the temptation of the devil in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-15). The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” We need to pray and ask God for the strength we need when tempted so we do not give into it. The second part of this verse shows very plainly that the flesh is weak. So pray Read the rest of this entry » Each of the 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Each of them may slightly differ in the wording due to points of view.
