After God finished creating everything, He rested on the Seventh Day, a.k.a. The Sabbath. Even Jesus said in Mark 2:27, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.”

That interested me. God rested on the seventh day. The first six days He created the earth as we know it and the sun, moon, and stars.

The sabbath is another one of God’s many gifts to us. Even in today’s anti-Christian society, Sunday still manages to be the slowest day. I thank God for Sunday’s because my family and I normally after church take that day to spend together, rest, relax, etc.

I think that it is cool that God, when He created the earth created a day of the week for us to worship Him, rest, go to church, spend time with family, and just take a break from the other 6 days of working and the fast pace world. Our God truly is an awesome God.

Something else my eyes were just opened to was that God Himself set the example for us. God rested on the seventh day.

I thought that Adam and Eve were the first two people on earth. I am coming to find that may not be true. I have recently studied in Genesis and found they may have been, but they may not have. When I read Genesis 1:6-8 my eyes were opened to something very interesting. In the New Living Bible Genesis 1:6-8 reads, “Then God said, ‘Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.’ And that is what happened. Many things in life we take for granted. One of those things I just realized as I was writing this post and reading in Genesis is day and night. We think day and night were always there, but Genesis 1:3-5 reads, “Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. Then He separated the light from the darkness. If God be with us, who can be against us?… Romans 8:31

Our God is an awesome God.  He is a mighty powerful and majestic God.  He sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to die on the cross so our sins can be forgiven.  There is no problem He can not solve.  Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave.  He conquered sin.  Jesus is Lord of all.  He is victorious.  If Jesus is on our side, who can be against us?  We are protected.  Make sure that God is with you and on your side.

I know on Monday you are expecting a verse of the week, but I will post that tomorrow morning.  Nest week it will be back to Mondays.  According to what I have heard and figured out about time and the bible, the earth shouldn’t be older than 15000 years. If this is true, then how can scientists say that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and that the earth is millions of years old? Romans 12:9 reads, “Hate what is wrong.” I think that this is pretty straight forward.

Just before I wrote this post I found something that I didn’t expect to. Romans 13:6 reads, “Pay your taxes.” I had no idea that this was worded so plainly.  Again in Romans 13:7 the bible reads, “Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them.”
